🎸 Abilene P-Bass – Rebuilt, Reloaded, and Ready for Work

Some basses age gracefully.
Some basses get used.
This one got loved hard, taken apart, rebuilt properly, and now plays better than it ever did when it left the factory.

Made by Samick in Asia back in the day (exact year unknown — but it’s earned every one of them), this Abilene P-Bass came to us with honest wear and a story to tell. We decided it deserved a second act.

To paraphrase the old Westinghouse slogan:
“The quality went in long after the name went on.”

What We Did (aka: The Glow-Up)

We didn’t “wipe it down and call it vintage.”
We went all in:

• Complete teardown — everything removed

• Full deep clean, top to bottom

• Fretboard scrubbed and conditioned

• Frets leveled and crowned

• Fret ends smoothed

• Fresh set of tuning machines

• Hand-cut bone nut

• New pickups

• New pots

• Switchcraft output jack

And because tone matters but style counts too —
it’s rocking a red and black pearl pickguard that looks absolutely killer.

• Classic P-Bass punch and authority

• Solid low end with clear articulation

• Comfortable neck that plays fast and smooth

• Road-worn character without the road-worn problems

Yes, it has dents and dings — it earned them.
But what you’re getting is a bass that plays, sounds, and feels better than it did when it was new.
